We all know
that taking down the chandelier is difficult, so why not
just add an
expansion ring to enlarge the existing Medallion without taking
the fixture down.
Expansion rings offer a plain or decorative hollow circle
that once
installed will make any medallion appear larger and comply with
the design
principles of the
"golden rule of design" (ie Phi)
Apply the ring
with the
approved adhesive and use the
spackling
compound
to fill any
cracks. Paint the flat drywall portion between the ring and your
existing
medallion either the same color or a different color. You can even
add rosettes
in the gap area.
